I recently posted about procedures to handle jet lag. I have traveled to many time zones ranging from a 1 hour change to 12 hours. My stays have varied from a day to several months. Because of this it’s second nature to decide how to handle jet lag. It’s worth pointing out that travel may not require adjusting yourself to your new time zone.
It’s really a function of the number of time zone changes and the amount of time you will stay there (or return to your origin time zone.) The WSJ addresses this well with a post on how to decide whether to bother adjusting.
